guess what I stumbled upon

not poo.
not Winnie the Pooh either.
but she is called Hanny the homonym of honey- Pooh's favorite!
She is an Indonesian girl and she plays with her blog.

Very popular she is becoming because I am a fan.
Only in High School and that's why she is very interesting, maybe.

I hope you like the featured parody in her blog.
I hope you also learn how to fish braid your hair and check out her interesting sofa.

I find her refreshing because some young girls and boys I know are way too old for their age.  They try to be just like everyone else without even knowing who they are.  And claim they are different?

To my young friends:  sex and hickeys, drugs and booze- you think these make you smart huh?

why not try some dry and crisp humor for a change (lol).

Pilar

We talked about my memory gaps and how i am struggling to fix it.  She was interested to know how my last trip was. She remembered details about my children, and was happy to know that Ana decided to stay in the Phlippines.  She gave me a jar of beauty creme- the one she uses on her gorgeous face.  I left her house not just with a jar of Pond's but a vivid memory of her grace and love for life.  I left  a prayer that she would stay around longer.

The last time I saw her was a few days before I left for Australia.  I received what would be her last text message saying that I would be missed.

I will miss this feisty, independent, bright and witty woman.  When I imagine her and as I pray for her, I see her colors and I smell her perfume.  She left with me and with all her dear friends a standard for living a great, beautiful life.  She is how I would like to be when I grow older, if  I can keep my mind alert and my senses intact by that time (granting your vitamins would work for me too).

I know you are now in this garden intoxicated with magnificent flowers,  and in case you bump into my loved ones, please tell them about me.

And as I would always end my message to you, "a basket of  love and thanks coming your way".

My cup runneth over.

Goodbye my friend!

Parental Guidance

I have 4 offices:  first office is in my school at Antipolo.  Second office is at home in Frogglerocks.  My third office is Facebook and my 4th could be anywhere else in the world.

My third office is where I get to connect with friends but more importantly, this is for my young friends in school.  I get invited enthusiastically by these young people, some cannot even write a sentence yet.
They find out later that friendship with me in this book of faces has a big tag called prudence, another tag called social responsibility, and one more tag on net etiquette.

I stay awake watching this third office of mine,  and I wonder if every parent is on top of their children's activities especially when they plug in to the cyber world.  Recently,  I was invited by a little girl to be her friend.  Her profile pic was a young woman seductively posed and in that profile album was the same model in her birthday suit.  She is just 8.

Parental guidance and vigilance. That's number one in my Christmas list.

wet

we have been drizzled, rained, and showered without the usual thunder in the tropics.  raindrops are finer from our observation, over where the kookaburras laugh.  but fine shower or not, rain does not exempt anyone from getting wet.

At least,
wet feet

wet shoes

wet socks

wet pants

wet head

wet grass

And the most dreadful thing from this rainy weekend is that I missed my markets.

Mt. Gravatt

Rocklea

Southbanks

Eagle street

From the bad comes the good they say - we discovered a Fair Trade Market.  That made up for the other things.  After the good was the bad - I lost Marie's camera!  tsk! tsk!  Up to now, I have not a clue how I did it.

hoping for rainy nights and week days if Thy will be done, but please, make it market- sunny this coming weekend.

Ta-ta!!

www.fairtrade.com.au

"Fair trade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers, artisans and workers in the developing world.   By requiring traders to pay sustainable prices, fair trade addresses the injustices of conventional trade, which traditionally discriminates against the poorest, weakest produicers,  It enable sthem to improve their position and have control over their lives."

poison me

I did not know of these two things before today:  a poison ring and a mourning ring.
Poison rings date back to the Victorian era and the very interesting mourning rings, around 16th century.

There are authentic mourning rings that I stumbled upon an antique shop and while they are interesting, I see no point in wearing a reminder of someone's hair encased in crystal and set in rose gold!   Yes, a "relicario" of my favorite saint, I will wear but not someone else's 16th century remains immortalized in a jewel! Creepeh!!

The poison ring called me from the  display counter.  There is a lid that you release to open,  while you secretly pour a lethal dosage of poison into a glass of any drink.  It should be lethal in a very small amount lest you just give your victim a diarrhea or a gassy stomach.  This reproduction of the original Victorian ring is filigreed and set with tiny stones of turqouise.  A beauty so deceptive and treacherous... would be great to wear one.

Today, I have been married for 33 years!  Hurrah!!!
