All in a Day's Work

Talking about doctors' orders: Ana and I worked like horses today- she was supposed to spend the rest of her pregnancy lying on bed and I was supposed to be on a prescribed retirement!

Ana wore a chic office attire while I came in my T-shirt and loose pants.
Ana had to be pushed in a wheelchair while I had to knock my head off  trying to remember where my external drive was!

Never realizing that it was the end of the day, we worked like good ants and we smiled all through the day even when some things drove us out of our wits!!

We fixed things, forgave the unforgivable, and left our office sanctified and with kinder hearts.

A HEDCen Story: Sometimes, the sky is pink

...or orange or lilac but not always blue, and ladies and gentlemen, we are all under that one big sky!!

One foreigner may not like the concept of "destereotyping" colors.  He hated the pink polo that his son had to wear on Mondays and Wednesdays.  He  could not contain his displeasure and disgust as he wrote about it in his blog.

We have different opinions, contrasting in fact.   He insists on enrollment.  We said that it is unhealthy.

Jacob in his pink uniform
His child's school is his second home.  It is not wise to bring him to a place where the values and beliefs at home do not meet.

We really want him to consider other schools but if this is a way to open him up to see that colors do not choose who will wear them -  and that commercialism and consumerism brought this limited and illogical prejudices and stereotyping of colors, then maybe it is worth giving it a second chance.

We remain to continue to raise plump, juicy, bright and happy children regardless - whether it is snowing or not.

Life is a Kitchen

kitchen of Therese in Cagayan de Oro

Although I don't admit that I cook, today I must confess that yes, I do and more often now. ( And a lot of times, it is more enjoyable than eating! )  Here's what's cooking in my kitchen:

Aperitif:  Diagrams, illustrations and models for learning
SOP's that will not be followed anyway
                Critiques and recommendations

A bowl of creamy and organic Sweat Soup Chowder with excellent truffles from the neighbors

Fresh organic flowers, leaves and trees in plain watercolor dressing
Optional dressing: nutty facebook aoili

See food caught with Canon PS95 and marinated, chopped and sliced in iMovie processor
garnished with notes and lyrics brewed in My Dreams (of creating musical compositions)
 a song for Maria

Dessert:
Jacob's choco kisses, Chewey's fish kiss, mango flavored kiss from Mecca and of course,  the house will soon be serving a special dessert called Souffle- flown in from Australia.

How's that for a daily treat?  On another note, they say that chefs enjoy eating other people's cooking and this chef loves to dine at a new restaurant called Chati's kitchen and occasionally a White'n'Black at Edber's cafe .

Cooking up a storm, however I was told to NOT whip up the aperitif!!!!!  Well, I said- everything is cooked RAW in my kitchen!

A song for Maring

She's a woman with a size 8 slippers
And she answers to the call "Maring!"
Like a bell, like a ring Maria, Maring!
She's a woman! She's a lady!  She's a babe-h!
She tangos and dips with a giggle
 loves eating sweets
before the main dish
And she's cool
when she carries a bouquet of moringa
everyday in her top-down jeep!

She's a witch- the good kind
she's a medicine woman!
She loves Plato and geometry
She perfected her Chemistry!

Oh Maria! Oh Maring!
You're the lady for Maning, he-hey!
Oh the peaches and cream skin
You're the lady for Maning!
you're the lady, you're the lady
for Maning.
