Where to look for me

I actually live here beside a river and among a crazy, tangled mesh of plants.

This is where i look out but where sometimes i don't look in.

From the point of view of where one is outside looking in, it is just a place to live.

It can also be a place that will leave one wondering, who lives there?

What is she like?

What does she eat?

What does she do?

It is only a chair

...that sits memories of conversations of time gone by and the special scent of individual voices and the textures of their words.

It is not this chair if it has not heard and felt life- its ebbing and beginning and missing those that will not sit on it again.

I bought this primitive love seat more than 30 years ago from my sisiter sister, and it has been, ever since, the documentarian of my life. It does not complain except for its creaking when it wants a little attention. 9/100 #100daysofblogging

JUSTO

 Dear everdearest Musto Judo,

The mighty! the good!  the strong!  the handsome! the bright! the brave!  You are so loved and by even more than those who loved Kuya, because you have Ima and Ors, Mimi, Daddy Lolo, your mom and dad and now 2 brothers: Kuya Jacob. Diko Chew and your cousin Sofia + a lot more.

Your brothers waited for you to come out to this world.  They called you Judd and Chinto before Diko started calling you "Musto".

That is why, you have to be strong and fight the bacteria in your lungs! Like Kuya Jacob's Optimus Prime, "Destroy the enemies" and as your Diko's ternasarut rex "RAaaWrrr",  show your fangs!  You have Mommy's milk and that is the best medicine, so you have to keep feeding!

When you wake up from this battle inside your body,  Ima is waiting at home.   Diko Chew can't wait to show you more "saurus" and your Kuya Ironman the firefighter, to protect you.

Your guardian angel is there watching over you.      We do not see it, but I know that Jesus with Mother Mary cradle you when Mommy is tired. I am sure that you are surrounded with them in your hospital room.Your Dad is a fervent Pray-er.

The bamboo tree outside my windows, the kingfishers, the river beside Frogglerocks, and oh, the beautiful butterflies, including the fuzzy wuzzy caterpillars as well as the slimy snails are all sending their twinkles and golden sparkles to you.  I can't wait to show you all of them! But first,  be patient...

I miss cradling and cuddling you for now but I will sit tight. ahuhhmmmm...mmmmm...Be well as you rest and as you breathe. Come home soon.

Ima
(and everyone from Frogglerocks and Anthill)

good luck moon

beautiful, lucky moon tonight - August 13

A significant number of women give birth when the moon is rising and especially when it is at its fullest. You may check the hospitals to see if this is true.  Hmmm, I have one very pregnant mom around here- will she or will she not this week?

A Harbinger of news

Looking at mail boxes can be as interesting as watching people or trees in my case.  You can sometimes guess the person behind the mail box, but a lot of times, they don't project at all.

Nevertheless, they are interesting as they perch on a fence or a pedestal of its own.
Some mail boxes serve a community as they look like a condominium when stuck all together!
Mail boxes are mail boxes and should serve only one thing- and that's quite obvious.  And who would fancy mail boxes?  Others, fancy jewelry, clothes, houses, paintings, buildings...

but I do!  I love the humble mail boxes that I passed by in my trip to  Northern California.  Some stood singly, waiting for its purpose every day, alone.  Others, stood on perches together like a flock of herons keeping each other company.  (they are just in my memory though)

They wait for good news or hope for it.  There was a time during the war when mail boxes brought news of doom and death.

Mail boxes are loyal, faithful to their duty- never leaving their post, come rain or sun.

In one of my walks, I passed by one that made me backtrack to see what I thought I saw.  A mail box for sure but... you be the judge.  This is so far my favorite (!!)

All in a Day's Work

Talking about doctors' orders: Ana and I worked like horses today- she was supposed to spend the rest of her pregnancy lying on bed and I was supposed to be on a prescribed retirement!

Ana wore a chic office attire while I came in my T-shirt and loose pants.
Ana had to be pushed in a wheelchair while I had to knock my head off  trying to remember where my external drive was!

Never realizing that it was the end of the day, we worked like good ants and we smiled all through the day even when some things drove us out of our wits!!

We fixed things, forgave the unforgivable, and left our office sanctified and with kinder hearts.

Happy Birthday Ana!

You were barely two....

then, whoooooooosshhhh! there you are all grown up in a twinkling.  And even as a clown, you make sense,  always giving your best in everything you do- as a mother and wife.

with Jose

your "shiver my timbers' pirate

I can say that you've come a long way, Ana.
You lost Ilyana and went through deep, deep grief.

And found your way back to joy and learned to love the way all mothers do- bravely, gently, strongly.

Your faith has always guided you and lit your way,

All the way!

I stumbled upon this and my musings for your wedding and that was like just a year ago?

It is good to remember,
how i imagined your gown would be like....

from your invitation

down to your garden reception.

and yes! glad I wrote down details of our preparation.

This happened a few breaths and blinks ago...
Your wedding was more exquisite than I thought  and now you even have a more beautiful life!

And for your birthday tomorrow...
May you be blessed with your heart's desires and may your sons enjoy sunshine and laughter all throughout their lives.  May you and Lloyd continue to flourish prosperously and be rewarded for your efforts each "freakin" day!!!

Cheers!

Haappppy Birthdaaaaaaaaay Buting!!!!

some beautiful, some plain

Still, waste bins or trash cans, or litter receptacles, a rose by any other name would smell as sweet...or realistically, would stink no matter what. Some serve its purpose, others don't.

New York Herald Square

Here they are striking a colorful pose among birds and beasts.  But can they really do the job of cleaning up? Geographically speaking, you will find its contents, somewhere they should not be.  What do you think the fishes are saying?
